Make no mistake. There are some very rich L uos. Luos LIVE life. They party and enjoy themselves like the sun will never rise again - to the maximum with ZERO regrets.

Compare that to the thrifty Kikuyu man who saves his whole life, denying himself the simplest “luxuries”, driving a tin can and wearing off his single pair of cheap ugly brown shoes through the sole while his bank account has more money than all of KRA’s combined. He does not drink or have lunch for more than 250, believing any more than that to be profligate.

Then he is killed by his Kikuyu house wife one morning. The kids, whom he thought were his, were fathered by someone else when the man was busy chasing paper and buying plots and building flats all over the place. They squander the Kikuyu man’s wealth in a couple of years and die from drug overdose and grisly road accidents in the wee hours of the morning whilst going home from a night of binge drinking and whoring.

Kwanza the phrase Okach Biggy is synonymous with Okimwi in Luo Nyanza. I grew up thinking the word was just another phrase for okimwi kumbe it’s just another musician
