LTE Bands...

Now that most of us have been caught unaware with these LTE frequency, it is high time to change our games in choosing the right phones (camera, sound and screen are no features in nowadays phones).
Currently Telcom uses band 20
Faiba4G uses band 28.
These two bands zimekuwa ngumu to find in some phones. Now the question is; is it a software or a hardware issue. Na kama its a software issue leteni step by step procedures on how to overcome this thing. We wont click any link

hizo ni bitu utapata huko xda and if it is possible kuenable bands some of the processes are very frustrating

Depends on the SoC powering your phone/modem. Chipsets are made for certain bands. Unlocking will work if and only if the SoC supports the band. It’s akin to running a petrol engine using diesel.
The LTE thing gets confusing once you throw in FDD and TDD. There’s 700Mhz FDD and TDD. In Kenya, we use FDD.

It should be a hardware issue, I think.

It’s a hardware thing. And am happy Telcom decided to change the game .they should also reintroduce EVDO network hapo ndio watu wa infinix na Tecno watajua hawajui

EVDO was very convenient. Terminating it was, to me, an epic fail.

Redmi note 3 wako ndani

It was based on CDMA which can be compared to GSM

Most countries phased out CDMA.

Bado wako nje…on a previous thread nilisema Redmi Note 3 Taiwanese version ndo inasupport LTE band 28…International Version yenye watu wengi wanayo hai support band 28

For those who don’t know…Faiba’s LTE BAND 28 is more superior than band 20 (Telkom), Band 3 (Safaricom uses both band 3 and 20) combined. Faiba gave out a list of compatible phones and Nokia is the only one that supports both data and voice on the network and it gave out another list that supports data only…those phones that support data only have the provision to support voice also just that they need to receive an update from their respective manufacturers to ba able to make them active.

But don’t worry Faiba is partnering with Nokia in some few weeks time and you will be able to buy a sim card together with a phone…
