A man from Malava, Kakamega County is accused of killing his wife by beating and strangling her following a domestic disagreement.
It is alleged that the suspect, named Jonathan Shikuku, started an argument with his partner, Faith Nanzala who is a mother of two, after marrying a second wife and asking the deceased to leave the house.
According to the couple’s neighbours, the two have been living in constant wrangles for the past two years.
Area village elders led by Wycliffe Mulongo have urged couples to resolve domestic disputes through elders or religious leaders instead of taking the law into their own hands.
In the meantime, Nanzala’s body is being kept in the Webuye mortuary while the suspect is being detained at the Malava police station as investigations prevail.
