Life as a project manager

Some of you may remember when I shared that I landed a PM :construction_worker_man:t5::clipboard: role through connections—not because I had “PM wizard” on my CV, but because life be life-ing. Someone in the comments told me to take the PMP course, and I did…
(well, the YouTube version—same stress, fewer certificates).

Fast forward: now I’m the one people take seriously in meetings.
There are timelines. There are budgets. There are stakeholders saying things like “circle back” and “let’s flag that.” And somehow… they’re looking at me for direction?? :sweat_smile:

Let me tell you, Maina, it’s a weird feeling when your responsibilities start growing faster than your salary. I’m doing my best, learning fast, and praying no one notices I still Google “what does a project manager actually do?” at least once a week.

It’s quite the rollercoaster to be in a position where they put you in a role you grew into, not one you felt ready for from Day 1.
For the other PMs out there, here’s to you keeping your heads above the Gantt chart. :joy::folded_hands:

Happy Eid, everyone! :crescent_moon::sparkles:

Good. Wanaume wananukisha kitunguu apa nje wakishika kandarasi za branding/marketing for all the regular companies seeking kenyans’ eyeballs. Lots of project management and overseeing things.

Hii mambo ni half corporate half juakali juu ni ground na office teams on both ends. Hebu jielezee kidogo bila kiujidox accidentally

Also know the performance indicators and how to interpret the data. Utakuwa mbele
