lettuce be real University degrees are useless

Although I have a job and I earn a good salary I still feel that I wasted my time for 4 years getting indoctrinated that the rat race was the best option for me. I wish I hadn’t joined uni immediately after kcse and taken some time off to run my sidehustle and travel a bit. Nowadays kids are graduating from University and spending months at home job hunting after being sold the lie by their lecturers that their first class honors or upper second class honors degree will get them hired in a Kenyan blue chip company like safcom, Google, Oracle etc. I will also encourage my kids to start sidehustles after Highschool

kuna generation ingine haiwess skia iyo maneno

Lecturer wetu told us one thing and I have proven that he was right…out problem is just corruption…juu money meant for development and setting up industries is stolen(ends up in people pockets) there will never be jobs for us…imagine if we were corrupt free… unemployment and poverty would be a very small issue… stop blaming universities

hio ujinga ungeandika huko kwa entertainment. ghassia

University degree aren’t useless, they open up your mind to where you can view the world from a completely different dimension. You can see opportunities where guys who never stepped foot in uni doesn’t, you reason better than guys who didn’t go to uni.
Ile exposure university hukupa is priceless.
You will appreciate this once you start interacting with niggas who didn’t go to uni, in your day to day activities

A degree is only important if you don’t have one. Ungekosa degree ndio ungejua how limited your opportunities are. Most people bila degree options zao ni biashara za trading vitu wameimport…yani ni kazi mtu akona degree ama mtu hana degree anaeza fanya.

This is where you will go wrong with them. You will want them to live out the life you missed and be biased regarding what they as unique human beings really want with their lives.

OP Wacha jokes…

Hiyo degree yako ni halali kweli

degree is important to an extent. Mtu kama @PHARMACY has no degree. His relatives have also no degrees. That’s the reason they work in mlolongo. They trade their stuff for 50/ bob.

Kama @PHARMACY angekuwa na degree his kids would be able to afford proper pencils. They wouldn’t be living in a filthy cafeteria.

A university degree would’ve equipped @PHARMACY with the knowledge that Balozi and Ugali is not a proper meal.

Very true.Kuna jamaa alisomea hizi ma life sciences.Alishinda akiambiwa na ma bro zake venye the most he will ever be is a BOM sciences teacher in a secondary school.Nilichungulia LinkedIn yake maze nikaona he became a Frannchise Head in charge of four countries pale Norvatis based in Kanairo.Salo ya Novartis inakuanga mambo bad, only 100k short of 1M for a Franchise Head role.Masomo ya University ni priceless indeed.Siku ya graduation mtu hupewa ‘the power to do all that pertains to the degree’.Hakuna degree useless.Any graduate with an open mind more often progresses much much further in life than a non graduate.

Harshness of life. Noma sana. Hii nayo imenigusa.

Wewe mshutaji, wacha za ujinga, like in Kenya to get a prime job you must have a degree or masters and you have many options and opportunities compared to person who does not have a degree, although it is not the same to everyone, kuna a few wenye wamesoma and have not succeeded in live, because success in life depends on many factors, not just education.

Blame your collective voting habits na ubonobo mwingi. Dunia yasonga mbele but tree branch swingers wanaona ni mashetani tu. Kuendelea musahau kwa sasa

Ya Zetech university :D:D

Inahuzunisha sana

Majuu ni ukweli. Ulifanya STEM automatic unapata kazi. Biotechnology undergrad USA unaanza na $50K pap after graduation. Ubaya ni Kenya tuko pabaya

waah, anyway if we wanted to be like the west we must put our affairs in order, Kenya hata kumold engine we can’t, food security nill, we have a long way to build

The opportunities available to those with degrees are limited, for those lucky enough to land those opportunities their trajectory in life is amazing - but sadly for those who do not get those opportunities then those who never went to university are better off, since they started their hustles earlier and they have learnt to live without much expectations.

What I have seen happening is that those who go to university from well of backgrounds and from families with good connections the advantages are numerous, lakini if one is starting from scratch after finishing university, ni ngumu siku hizi.

It’s really sad. Majuu unaona jobs hapa zenye you need degree, huko requirements ni mtu alipita science highschool. Disheartening sana. Biotech companies in Oxford alone ni more than possibly East Africa nzima.
