let's us face it like Men and Women of Integrity

Fact:
Kenya is in existence today, courtesy of young colonial settlers, who left the comfort of Europe, in their prime age just to come and establish modern settlement.

and we’ll be better off if they stayed
longer…or never left

Settlers were not part of “The scramble for Africa” they came in later when colonies were already established.

That’s something that is very debatable

You should go work for Chomodley.

Wrong! The problem with most Africans is that they have no appreciation for logic. Humans move up sociaeconomically, not the other way around .In other words one does not move from say runda to kibra. They came here for a better life period!

compare Kenya and S.A

If a coalition Government was needed in .ke, then the first post independence government was the most ideal.

I do agree with your statement to some extent, but then , East Africa was a jungle then. White settlers were moving in a place full of uncertainty, disease and hostility.

Fact. It is sad that I can read because I can’t get the stupidity that I just read out of my head.

wrong. there was no comfort in europe where resources such as land were overstretched with only some classes having the privilege of owning any. even then, only firstborn sons could inherit the land and with a better survival due to advances in medicine, and the better quality of life by the industrial revolution, Europe was a powder keg waiting to happen. remember upper class europeans were cousins who married each other from russia to london and often instigated senseless wars against each other that culled off a few million poor young men at a time whenever pressure from their masses threatened their comfort. where the upper classes failed to manage their masses properly, like in france and russia, the result was revolution. the situation was going to replicate itself all across europe if they did not facilitate the movement of some of their masses to far off lands such as australia, southern Africa, north and south america…and even then the greed of the upper classes who wanted to extend their life of privilege still followed the settlers to the colonies where they exercised taxation without services. this led to such events as the boston tea party…

Highlight the stupidity please

They came here to decongest their populated towns and villages, to get a better shot at life and be called something, not just any other peasant

I agree with your analysis, but the bottom line remains. KENYA was shaped by the white settlers.
Almost all major institutions in Kenya, can be traced back to Colonial Era.
Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi University, Kenya Railways, Karen, Muthaiga , a good number of high schools and the list is endless.

Question:
What would be the face of Kenya, if we attained independence in let’s say 1920 ?

i agree with you the invasion by a colonial power launched what we now call kenya into the era of a modern state. before that we had our own communities each with its own developed social system and i guess each of them were happy with their life…

My point exactly, we had tribal territories, which were functional, we had challenge and triumph like any other society in the world.
But the face of Kenya today, is courtesy of the white Settlers.

it is true, but you are overemphasizing this point it’s like we went begging them to come change our country…they were brought here by their own interests…
