Launch of the Faiba 4g Mobile

Example of such a phone?

Safcom.will be fine, for some time…wake nahurumia ni Telkom.and Airtel. I for one will dump my telkom.simcard but retain safcom

and coverage

Nokia, I assume because they are a partner with Faiba on this

Safcom is here to stay for a looooong time simply because they are not asleep or sitting down in its comfort zone. I’m using their home fibre and its pure bliss. Very fast speeds, unlimited, uncapped and reliable. This year its been down a few times but its always someone cutting their fibre. I suspect sabotage. They also text or call to apologize and extend the expiry date.

Safaricom wako safe kuwa the default SIM 1, hapo Kwa SIM 2 ndio kivumbi iko. But safcom will lose data revenue if they don’t revise their rates

naweza pata wapi simcard yao niendee kesho

Most of the Sony Xperia support 700Mhz but not VoLTE. The Nokia 2, 3, 6 and 8 are said to support VoLTE.

Generally speaking, the lower the frequency the better the coverage. SAfaricom uses 800Mhz on LTE, Faiba will be on 700Mhz.

Fisi tariff :D:D:D:D:D:D:D It would have been a hit if not that its a hourly tariff.

Hii volte, can your phone use it while calling a non-volte capable phone?

Let me ask on behalf of others like me who are not up to date with geek lingo.

What is VoLTE?

Voice over LTE, supposed to be very clear and very low latency coz. LTE is fast. Latency ni hio time lag when communicating

I’m not into Telecoms, more of a hobby thing. Well, it’s Voice Over LTE. Its like VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)but now on LTE. Same way you use Skype/Whatsapp to make voice calls, now you do it via LTE/4G. You only need VoLTE if you plan to make calls otherwise 700Mhz without VoLTE is enough for internet.

I now await the competitors to reduce their charges, offer more value or both. We the consumers are to benefit as they fight for us. Don’t you wish our politics would be like this, based on who offers the best development manifesto and articulates how it would be achieved.

Wadau hizi simcard tutazitoa wapi forrowing for the answer

Just seen a post about them being available at FoneExpress. Don’t know how true.

Sijaamini pia. Yesterday they messed up during expansion of the safaricom home and interrupted the net of the whole neighbourhood. I made one call jana and despite challenges in the restoration, safcom have called several times with reassurences and promise for extension of subscription. Minutes ago they called to confirm if all was well. Napenda sana
