Latest on SGR: Speed test.

Test Run Result:
Departure from Nairobi South Terminal @9:30am
Arrival at Mtito Andei Station @11:30am.
Mtito Andei Intermediate station is the midpoint of the 472 kilometre SGR line.

The train took 2hrs to travel a distance of 236KM give or take.
Quick calculations gives an average speed of 118km/hr. Na mlisema train ni an archeological specimen.
NASANISTS would prefer we arrived in mombasa at the speed of light though…:D:D:D:D

Critics were working with the initial speed given by the government that was higher than that. Plus the jubilee manifesto had bullet trains. 118km/hr is not bad but is definitely not world class.Notice that the train on the manifesto is electric.

I doubt. Probably a bunch of test engineers recording details, and the lucky media guy or two or a politician with pull.
