Ok so i had ealier requested to be given suggestions on a good gaming laptop below $1000. I have done some research out there and saw the best option was to import… I want a machine with gtx1050 ti & i5-7th/8th gen or i7 -7tg/8th gen… Ram obviously 8gb +… Zingine ni hekaya… Sasa comes the issue hapa… Mimi ni student, i want to import i dont even know where to start… Hapa Kenya kwa maduka watu wanauza 5th gen machines na bado 100k+ with outdated graphics card, so niasaidiwe vile ntaeza kuimport from either ; amazon, ebay, AliExpress etc and the expected importation costs… And also how safe is it? I’m a noobie here so lazima nikue na some worries coz nimeona online scams on these importation sites…
Laptop I’m buying for other things also such as editing of graphics and some yt videos & also little coding… so nataka machine flowless if i wanted only a gaming rig ningenunua console na screen ya 20k nisave the rest…
i guess kila nyani na pozi zake lakini gaming is much easier on a desktop. a gtx 1050 is only ksh 25k right now in the market and will go on just about any hp tower out there. it doesnt need external power. and desktop ram is dirt cheap.
If I were you I would avoid all these at all costs and try Mystique Kenya - Redirecting... . I wouldn’t buy from the others because if you don’t like what you bought or it arrives different or damaged. You have no chance of getting your money back with them. It’s a dead end with them and this is where Mystique Kenya differentiates themselves. They can help you get a refund 9 times out of 10 and there customer services is one of the best especially here in Kenya. Almost all businesses here in Kenya frustrate you because of there customer service. You can’t even get through to them when they are needed. I have purchased with them plenty times and have never been disappointed. It only takes a week on average to arrive also from the day it leaves UK.
Kuna app inaitwa Slickdeals Google play store. Get it.
Hii app inakupea deals posted by wasee majuu (US) from various stores in real-time.
You can even set it to just notify you on gaming laptop deals. Most of which zinapostiwa daily.
Then get a prepaid card Kama ya nic bank or kcb or equity etc ndio utumie kulipa. Reason for this I realized some companies if you use them to buy their dollar exchange rate is higher than current so unaweza lipa upto 5-6k more than you would if you paid directly.
Then when buying unaweza address ya shipping company e.g KenTex etc then pay.
In the case of KenTex watakushow ikifika Na wakupe quotation ya cost of shipping to Kenya. Alternatively uwatumie link ya laptop they will inturn send you a quotation including cost of shipping, insurance (coz item is >$200) Na cost of item itself. Ukishalipa wanaanza process ya procurement.
I have talked of KenTex coz ndio nimetuma. I’m not advertising their services in any way. Their downside Ni shipping cost is $15/kg.
Kuna akina aramex, vitumob etc but Sina experience with them.
I order with them and have gotten many items with them. If I’m lying you can compare there page with any other cargo service company in Kenya. The rest have mixed reviews.
Sawa but problem is things are expensive in the UK … my advice to him is to buy on amazon ama B&H then use the shipping only service ya savo store …(for savo store just add 7k for them ) but its worth it
