Lanye steals 70k from elder

A Nairobi man is seeking help after an encounter with a woman on the night of Friday, 2 January 2026, after which his ATM card went missing and Ksh 70,000 was withdrawn in two transactions at an Equity Bank ATM in Kawangware, with CCTV images and bank alerts already obtained showing the woman at the machine.

He says the matter has been reported at Riruta Police Station and is currently under inquiry, even as he continues to appeal for information from the public to help identify her whereabouts and ensure she faces justice.

“Hello Cyprian. Help a brother. A woman who saw me swiping my card, stole it and withdrew Ksh 70,000 on Friday night. I am still getting more images from the bank and the case has been reported. I want the lady exposed and to face justice so no man goes through this. I dropped the lady in Satelight, Riruta while semi-unconscious. She tricked me saying she was going to a friend’s house with a key while I waited with an empty purse in my car. A few minutes later, I realized my ATM was missing and before I could block it, she had already withdrawn the cash. I am offering a reward of Ksh 15,000 to anyone who can positively identify her whereabouts, including her house number, estate, or place of stay. The police OB has been filed at Riruta Police Station and the case is being investigated. Money was stolen in two withdrawals, Ksh 40,000 and Ksh 30,000, from the Equity Bank ATM in Kawangware. I do not wish my identity to be disclosed but can provide pictures showing the lady, the location she tricked me to, and the purported estate she stays in. Let me know if you need any further information.”
