Birrionairs, Mirrionairs and Peasants, lend me your ears…
as we all know land rates in Nairobi county are due in the first quarter of the year. I usually pay mine in Feb to avoid the rush come the end of March.
Curiously, when I got my rates demand yesterday, I noticed that there is a small decrease in the amount to be paid. Not a crazy amount, enough to buy a Glenfiddich 12yr old whisky.
I know it cant be because I overpaid last year because I do not believe in paying the NCC a cent more than they deserved. I also know its not my land only. My brothers and the folks plots in the leafy surburbs also had the same change in the amounts due.
Has there been an official decrease in the percentage charged for rates and if so, when was it effected?
(Residents of kayole and other places where you park on the pavement need not respond.)
nairobigay saidia , naishi kwa bedsitter which is designed in a way mtu akiingia kwa mlango ya sitingroom naweza kumuona kwa bedroom hapa cayole , sasa my question is landrate ya bedsitter ni how much ? nimalizane na kanjo mapema .
Unco, hiyo ishalipiwa. unalipanga hapo kwa kibanda hiyo karibu na keja. For every chapo na mayai unanunua hapo, kuna 35cents surcharge inaenda straight to NCC.
NCC doesnt charge land rates on areas designated as National Disaster Zones. So pipeline, zimmerman, githurai etc mko clear. Mtalipa Red Cross retainer fee.
All 999 years leases were reduced to 99 years with this new constitution. That’s why alot of colonial lands especially tea farms and ranches are now up for sale.
