The next day I woke up in my house, safe and sound, I don’t know how I got there, I remember struggling to take a turn on the junction leading home then I guess I switched off again, that’s the only nemory I have of my drive home, I woke up at midnight, expecting the worst! Kutoka inje, gari imepakiwa vizuri, hakuna dent hata moja. I almost gave it a hug, the jalopy might be a little beat up, but it knows it’s way home. In the morning my folks were wondering why I just drove in and immedietly went to sleep. Police have not come knocking so probably i didn’t knock anybody or anything down.
This was a sweet dream. Hope you didn’t wet the bed in the process.

Hapo tu kwa distance ndio sielewi. Supposing kwenu ni western then that’s a distance from Kisumu to Bungoma which is 100kms, or its a return trip from Kisumu to kakamega, towns that are 40kms apart. Or its equivalent of Nairobi- Naivasha which is 90kms and takes almost 2hrs…so it doesn’t qualify to be called a local

It’s utter bullcrap.
There’s a time I had accompanied a cousin to Nakuru for a dowry ceremony at Engashura. We left the chics home at around 7pm in a convoy of vehicles and and went to Summerland and took pints after pints.
We then hit the Nakuru-Nairobi highway after midnight and believe it or not, past Gilgil I was feeling as sober as an evangelical bishop.
By the time we arrived in the City, I was too sober to go home and we had to stop at Samba at almost 3:am to recharge before going home.
