Living out of a car is an American cost optimization. Here in Kenya that option is quite expensive compared to just getting cheap accommodation

In Africa you can get lodgings and long distance transport for under $10. Just fueling a car for a long distance trip is at least $40. Even for exploration, matatu + lodging is a better deal
