Need help friends. Back in jan 09 i registered for vat for a kamabenda holdings. Due to the rigors of a new biz, i never filled returns to date. There was just too much to do and also i was away for some time. I also havent filled income returns since i left employment in 03.
Now i need the loathed and coveted Tax compliance certificates. I need them like last week. If you are well conversed in this terrains, kindly advise how to go about it. A brother needs help.
The other day I was at KRA wanting to know if my former employers had been remitting my taxes. I was reliably informed that one had not for 4 years. In total I had not remitted my taxes for 8 years. KRA guys told me that I would have to pay KES 1,200 for every year which I had not submitted tax returns. I do not know if that has changed since the time I was there…
its easy, visit your kra station and speak to the manager. he will ask you to write a letter explaining this then after a few months its waived off. if you are in itax, you can start the process online thru debt and enforcement-then go to request for waivers on penalties then jaza the page and send. https://itax.kra.go.ke/KRA-Portal/dne.htm?actionCode=loadWaiversInitiationPage#
