KPLC cost of putting post

Greetings, has anyone interacted with KPLC recently when applying for electricity connection ? I’d want to know how much they charge for a post. I hear it is 100k but I think that is alot. Does anyone have different information on this ?

The cost can really vary, but expect 35k minimum for a basic connection and add 15k for each pole they will use, and those are determined by distance to the electrical transformer.

Mbona haukuweka ya world bank za 2,500/-?

ngoja stima ya rural electrification kama hauko karibu na transformer.

Gweka solar

Actually it is a populated area only that the existing post is on the plot across mine and we are separated by a 9m road so I just need one post so the cable crosses the road.

Back to the cost. Am surprised you say a post is 15K because KPLC told me 43K single phase connection and 126K including the pole.

Your neighbor’s land use is part of the ‘bill’ since he has to agree to a pole being erected on his property. Something to think about when buying land.

niliwekewa 400,000 pale mashamba :green_emoji:kama ni ocha chukua tu solar

Am not sure you understand.

The nearest pole is already serving my neighbour. Since my plot is across his, with a 9m road between us, that is why a pole is needed on my side of the road next to my plot.

Also, where a KPLC pole will be erected is a non issue when buying land. A petty issue if you ask me.

Sio ocha. Just a satelite town next to Nairobi.

If you know an insider it’ll be cheaper that’s what I did to erect mine.
