Can the African continent propel itself to development by use of Kiswahili as a common language. China has already demonstrated that you don’t have to use Western languages to move high up in terms of development. The Chinese have developed to a first world country by use of their indigenous language. However, there are differences in this case. The African system of education is entirely borrowed from the English, French, Spanish and Portuguese who colonised the continent. Chinese system of education is modelled on their ancient curriculum which spans over thousands of years ago. They even quote ancient Chinese scholars like Confucius.

Kiswahili is a bantu language and mostly coastal bantu ,that’s why it’s been hard to adopt across Africa, but it’s still evolving

It’s probably the best option for language Africa has to become a continental language, spoken in kenya, TZ, Congo, Rwanda, Burundi. Most of sub Sahara is bantu populated, hence it won’t be difficult to adopt. It comes easily for bantu, Arabic, Muslim people.

Chinese propelled to the level they are now due to leadership, rule of law that curbed corruption (penalties are severe), hard work & discipline.
