Kings Distinction 20 Floors Apartment in Hurlingham Nairobi is complete

Wow, nice building lakini why would anyone want to live in a high rise apartment? I lived in one on the 14th floor for 3 good years and hated it. You feel as though you’re living in a cage. I like nikifungua mlango ya nje, I’m stepping on the grass.

Realities of urban living.

Yeah, people have this idea it’s cool and hipster to live in the big city where you’re close to restaurants, clubs, shopping centers, museums and all that. Like here in the states some older people who suburban homes sell once their kids leave the nest and then buy an apartment/condo in the city. Seeing how expensive these units are I’m assuming older, wealthier people vs millenials are the ones buying …

Halafu pia kuna foreigners who buy real estate in Nairobi, kwanza that area is popular with Asians from what I have heard.

your logic makes sense. how much are they going for? any idea?

lol. ati cage…but yea to each his own…i dont like compounds or grass…too much work to maintain and if small family or no kids doesnt feel cagey. until the inlaws visit. ha.

Just heard this last week…some zunye from EU has come to buy real estate in the Kilimani-Westy area when prices are a bit depressed, his intention is to hold for a few years then sell. Nairobi is going to be very different in the next 5 - 10yrs. Expats and foreigner populations are increasing daily.

I don’t know how much they’re going for. If Westy prices are anything to go by, a 3bdr apartment should be arnd 30million…

Hurlingham and Kilimani will in future be China Town in Nairobi. A lot of their middle class Chinese are setting up shop and offices in the area. True to their global nature, they are also strong real estate buyers instead of taking up rentals. In the last 5 years our real estate projects have reached global high standards for the top tier. The top buyers are spoiled on the various choices. That means previous old style units are lacking buyers and they have to lower prices. Just building flats with the only feature being en-suite bedrooms isn’t enough. You need to incorporate all modern designs, features and extras to get sales. These older units will now sell for a fair price and that’s how the upcoming middle class will benefit.

Well observed sir.

Is she some kind of investor? The properties around this area are really expensive and overpriced. That property ( land and building ) is at least 1-2B minimum.

You have no idea what Canadians and Australians are trying to do to avoid a Chinese take-over and housing bubbles. Yet here we are praying for more chinese settlement

I think they are priced from 27-35m, fully furnished
