Kikuyu Privilege

Kikuyu priviledge is not a thing to be honest.

Its not a thing to kikuyus, they are OBLIVIOUS of it.
Just like most whites are to racism.

Kikuyus are not privileged. what the fuack are you talking about.

The kind of privilege being discussed here is the subtle kind. The kind that allows you to maneuver through society being treated differently by fellow kinsmen, regardless of whether a bribe in included or not. It doesn’t have to enrich but it will generate some advantage somewhere. I remember experiencing it when going for an ID replacement, my name was called sooner, and service was in Kyuk.

By virtue of the kuwa wengi and being decent hustlers, you’ll run into kyuks far more often in your day to day and go about the interactions unawares of the benefits you’re recieving.

I dont think so. So now in the next government utaanza kuskia kalenjin privilege. then luo privilege etc.

Kikuyus will not come close to power for the next 30 to 40 years, and that is the first agenda for any government formed this year. You cannot rule, oppress and mismanage the country for 70 years and still expect to be congratulated. Uhuru will be the last Kikuyu president and it will take 40 years to get another.

If you work for the government in a department headed by a kikuyu or a small/medium kikuyu owned business, you will get some privilege in your day to day activities, same thing as if you are kamba/luo working in a kamba/luo owned business or government department lead by a kamba/luo… so it might seem like there is small privilege given the kikuyu is the biggest tribe by population, but there so many of them competing for this privilege hence it cancels out.

If it was a real privilege like that of being white, then average kikuyus would get jobs more easily than everyone else and be clearly more socially mobile but from personal experience, they don’t, in fact my kikuyu relatives with kikuyu names on average do worse than those of us with kamba names, same thing about my campus class, kambas were few but on average got better jobs faster and are still doing well. if there is privilege, it’s too small/insignificant… but yeah, it must be fun being able to talk kikuyu to 1 in every 4 kenyans or 3 in every 4 Nairobians if speaking in mother tongue is your thing

How now? Kwani hujui ancestor wako anaitwa Mwangi?

She looks like my mom. I’ve not experienced what she speaks of I don’t think. Actually the language thing definitely

:D:D:D:D… this is most ridiculous shit I have heard in a while. I remember a while ago while nigga were saying equity was giving kikuyus loans for business.

Infuriating rubbish! Central province has the highest combinations of landless, jobless, homeless, uneducated and no community safety net.

Watu wa old-money, hatunanga hizi ma shida ndogo ndogo.

Hot chic detected.

The Kikuyus I live with, hustle with, party with, do stuff with, none of them are priviledged. Anything they have they had to sweat for it. None has connections to any fountain of priviledge. Atleast from what I see. If you mean their tribemen treating them better than they treat people from other communities, that’s Kenya 101. All communities do that.

There’s nothing like Kikuyu privilege. Most poor people in Kenya by tribe are Kikuyus
