As you continue to enjoy your Easter Holiday, I wish to report to the Great people of Nairobi that in the month of March that ended yesterday, Nairobi City County collected a monthly revenue of 1,539,600,000/= ( ONE BILLION, FIVE HUNDRED AND THIRTY NINE MILLION, SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND).
The collected revenue was banked in our Cooperative Bank revenue operations account and directly swept to the county’s CBK revenue account at the treasury. This is a clear indication that we no longer experience the accumulation of over 14,000 county staff and assembly salaries arrears which normally totals to between Sh.950m to 1B. For the funds to be accessed, law must be fully followed. A requisition by way of workplan highlighting the intended purpose for expenditure has to be done to the controller of budget with the approval of treasury after which funds can be released back to individual staff salary accounts or identified project contractors. Na hapo mujue bado hatuja factor in our monthly equitable allocation share amounting to over sh3 Billion from the National Government. Kwa hivyo hii serikali yetu ya ugatuzi ya Nairobi tukiwa serious na kufocus on service delivery twaeza enda mbali sana.
