Schools are closed. The universities have ample space for quarantine. They have self contained rooms, halls and even dining facilities to prepare food(takeaway) for the quarantined. It is sad seeing Kenyans returning from abroad being forced to paying for expensive accommodation. This might reduce compliance.
USIU, Utalii College, University of Nairobi etc have thousands of single rooms, double bed rooms, halls etc. Many private schools can offer the service too. Must we always make a kill out of people’s misery? The places could be fumigated thereafter, and those accommodated charged for the cost of the fumigation and replacement of contaminated material. Still cheaper that way. Just my thoughts!
In the absence of tourism, someone had to make a kill and make their resorts a quarantine zones. Only problem with this arrangement is students left their belongings pale hostels.
Hiyo story tells u that if shit goes down u are on your own. These highly paid fuckers will lock themselves behind high walls and peasants will be left to their own devices.

Land of Konyagi is tipsy
2 days ago we were given an option of going home to Kenya before the last flights are grounded. Nliangalia all my options nkaamua kukaa huku. I knew what was coming. 100$ a day is expensive; two weeks that is 1400 na you have not factors din all expenses
Not true…many years back we used to visit a number of Kenyan ladies in a USIU hostel…very clean hostel pale nyuma ya campus…unless if this was a private hostel with some sort of arrangement with the varsity.
The issue is to make quarantine manageable and practical and affordable without losing sight of its objective, which is to stop the spread of the disease. I wrote the piece before the column on Nation newspaper etc. I just read that the Govt has put options along those lines, and that is commendable.
In times of distress all should be able to add value in whatever way. It is sad if we sit back and keep criticizing others’ genuine effort to make a difference. All count, and you might be amazed at the practical ideas that many have out there! Sad that a few are just too insincere…read political!
Where are the BBI proponents? Are they moving around educating on coronavirus? Are they helping their constituents? Where is Atwoli? Where is Raila? Where are Ruto donations? At least I heard Oscar Sudi change tune and support Uhuru, for once! It is time to donate, like the Nandi Governor did(30% paycut). Great job!
