Hapo kwa selling Telkom to Airtel is a big mistake. Airtel massive debt locally, its Africa divisions and its HQ in India makes them unlikely to add any value to Telkom. Right now they are shopping for buyers of all its African business so that they use the proceeds to reduce their debts back at home. Let Telkom new management try on their own to make it viable first before trying to hand it over for the second time to people who don’t have a long term plan of its operations.

This is the truth about NYS-
- The thieves were the procurement officers, they are treasury employees seconded to NYS.
They are directly answerable to Treasury… .They fast tracked payments of big suppliers with the help of their colleagues at treasury while small suppliers were ignored.
The govt changed senior mgmt after NYS1 heist but left middle mgmt procurement officers intact . - NYS is a good agency taking care of orphans etc . they are the best drivers, plant operators ,mechanical engineers etc . the reputation of NYS is good. The slum and Youth empowerment were a cash cow, outside nys mandate. it was poorly planned and looting took place there.
- NYS officers (p&p) are very poor compared to other services.
NYS DG and DDG are not career NYS officers, they were brought not understanding the mandate of nys. These senior officers looted NYS , they ate junior officers allowances for water pan construction, slum upgrading etc. - Let the Govt leave NYS to career officers who understand what Griffith envisioned when he started NYS.
