[FONT=inherit][FONT=inherit]and Lighting Company (KPLC)[/FONT][/FONT]
[COLOR=rgb(43, 114, 255)][FONT=inherit] increased token prices [/FONT]
[FONT=inherit][FONT=inherit]after the Energy, Petroleum and Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced new high fuel costs.
While responding to a customer who lamented why he got 39 units after purchasing tokens worth KSh 1,000, the electricity distributor said there were adjustments in the calculation of the bill.
“The regulator has adjusted the fuel cost and inflation components of the bill, hence the increase in the token prices,” it tweeted.[/FONT][/FONT]
[FONT=inherit]Cost of power in Kenya up by 21%[/FONT]
[FONT=inherit][FONT=inherit]KPLC implemented a 21% hike in electricity costs after EPRA’s move to adjust fuel charges.
In this case, the fuel charge increased to KSh 6.80 from KSh 4.63 per unit.
On the other hand, the regulator adjusted the foreign exchange adjustment to KSh 1.37 from 73 cents.[/FONT][/FONT]
