Kenyan music sounds like bad imitaion of dancehall, hip hop, RB, bongo, Niaja, Amapiano and everything in between…Zero authenticity… People want to listen to authentic music. That’s why I can tolerate gengetone even if I’m an old fart…at least those weed-smoking, and mogoka-eating boys are telling real stories about the everyday ghetto life through witty lyrics and trashy beats… Bongo, Naija, and SA music is embedded with the unique and rich musicality of those regions, that’s why it’s going global…
Hii debate tena.
Elder walisema ni trash

What do you expect when our listenership is basically on radio to listen to gossip and sexual innuendo peddled by comedians? Stop listening to classic and kiss. Kama una youtube and all those FM stations and still cannot get something you like that is local, wewe ndio shida.
Mzee Ngala na Pastor Nganga wako na music yao unique, hawana competition na mtu yyote.
Kuna trash flani wanasema ni wimbo, ati unakuja juu poooh au ingine sijui kwi kwi kwi, fcuk that shit gives me migraine.
Don’t listen. Bure Kabisa. Ngombe ici
I agree. Let’s support authentic Kenyan music like these absolute bangers.

Eeeheee. Sisi tunaskiza Akothee bila wasi wasi.
sjui shida huwanga wapi
kayvo Kayforce alipotoa Namba Nane 808s, sjaskia any Kenyan producer anatesa system kaa kama the guy who did that EP… one Arap Moi (his moniker), alafu kidogo kidogo akaenda chini ya waba nkama alishika mkwanja akasahau calling. dark well crafted trap beats sounding like zimetoka kwa Lec Luger direct. more interesting beats than Rico Beats’.
naija na SA have history with house music which evolved into qmapiano( i remember Liquideep popping up nkiwa high school but they never caught on, perhaps house being too chill to dance to)… anx afrobeats (some naija doctor went ahead to quit med to become a dj/producer in the 90s uko Europe to great success akidabble in eurodance/dance). Kenya buried their disco heroes (some doc nishai ona kbc tenee nlisahau the names), sasa the link to electronic music ikapotea. By now kungekua na a local iteration of electronic music as time has gone just like the west and south whose have been morphing with time.
drill ya kenya is gheeey af. bad mastering, half-assed flows, that wanasound nikaa hawakupiga tizi, wanaongea instead warap. but kuna gems pia (Brian Nadra’s Entanglement, ukitoa izo rap wasi wasi za Boneye, it’s a masterpiece, and properly mastered)
Porno ya Kenya ni trash. Afadhali bangbros
Even Nigerian porn has superior production quality. Just that they tend to use some rough looking women.
:D:D:D
Gengetone iko tu sawa elders, lugha kuelewa ndio shida sasa … :D:D
There are too many different ethnic communities in Kenya for us to have a distinct culture.
That’s probably why Kenyan music doesn’t sound authentic.
That’s also why Kenya doesn’t have a distinct cuisine i.e. delicious food that mainly originates from Kenya.
Huko majuu you’ll never find anything such as a Kenyan restaurant serving “Kenyan food”
Brian Nadra had a good shot in music before aanze kufuatana na that Bon eye guy na kina Musyoka…sai he is deep in that shit hawezi jitoa ata ashalose his true self
