Anybody who has mentored people, as this @El Chapo Guzman claims, would know this.
Umesema ukweli kuna time nilikuwa nasimamia Attaches, out of 15 only one ndio alikuwa anajua what to do. Hizo zingine zilikuwa very shallow on everything hata kuset up printer ilikuwa shida
Usiwahi ongea stori ya we blah blah…we this…we that etc. Funza mtoto wako skills, let the rest be.
What are example of those basic computer skills the young man lacked?
@sani ashasema. Curiosity, initiative, ownership etc is not something that Kenyans generally have. Kama hawakufunzwa, hawataki kujua
The unis are okay, the graduates are just lazy fools, I took in a second year for attachment, guy does not know how to use a computer… he has a laptop but could not send an email, he kept asking stupid questions on the design software, asked him to use youtube and he asks me what should I ask on the search bar, I had to send him away to go learn the basics then come back, they have google but are too lazy to just search, when I was in second year I knew how get gp to piratebay get software etc, in campus we were only taught how use teh design tables and t-squares, I will not suspend paying customer work to teach someone how to send an email or how to phrase a question on google, hizi ni vitu someone with a passion anajifunza.
Wonder what they use their time to do while in campus. Cos computer packages or not, even form 4 leavers usually strive to have some basic knowledge. Then again you’re right, at the end of the day it’s all about passion; which drives people to grow exponentially in whatever they do.
Which course were you taking…
I’ve seen get software in piratebay…

Kuna msichana mwingine aliletwa huku, kazi ilikuwa TikTok na Diana Bahati on youtube. Hadi Saturday anakuja job kuziona kwa net ya ofis.
You have all these Unis and colleges churning out the next tech lead of some sorts. And by the grace the tech makes its big in his career and is now looking to expand his portfolio. Next thing he’s shouting for rescuers to come and save him from his burning penthouse on the 42nd floor, only that the firemen have a ladder long enough to climb sen’genge.
This elimu never taught the new tech lead to appreciate, master, value and know the limitations in his environment. Hii elimu is all about appreciating instant gratification and face value, zero substance created on a needy platform, but there is room for improvement but we have to assume real ownership by partaking in policies not politics of personalities which has always been the achilles heel in Kenya.
How many other countries have you lot worked and mentored graduates in for you to label it a uniquely Kenyan problem?
Boss, you better travel outside the country and see for yourself before you make such a general statement. Kenyans are highly rated due to their skills and work culture. And guess what, many are 844 graduates.
Using 1 graduate to pass judgements on millions of graduates is very stupid of you.
He’s also a half baked graduate. Look at the grammar in his second and last sentence…and what are the commas doing in that second sentence? Did he really learn the English language for 12 years?
wengi ni kumbaff tu at the end of the day kwanza wale wa kanairo, ngono na quick money mentality, heri niandike wa garissa
