KENYAN COOKING

I may not be alone ,I love my country but one of the things we were not blessed with is cooking skills.0 creativity, no seasoning, 0 flavoring skills.Add that to the fact that the food is cooked by someone who takes it as a chore and someone else wants to save money the end result is a tasteless lump called Ugali, boiled greens half cooked meat.Even Indians bringing Chapati and Bhajia and Arabs and Swahili Pilau etc has not helped much.Whenever i am out of the country i avoid Kenyan food like plague except Swahili. One of the coping skills to our food is that i gained interest in cooking food from other cultures.Whenever a Kenyan woman tries to sets foot in my kitchen i chase her out if she is coming with the Usual. But we can console ourselves British people are horrible cooks,Nigerian food is the worst of the worst, followed by Germans who eat sausage and beer, followed by Americans-who are raised on Ihop,KFC,McDonalds etc, and hardly know how to cook in a kitchen.Take a look.

Where do you come from? If you you have a friend in Western, ask about the cooking skills of the Teso, traditional foods, si hiyo takataka umeweka halo. I am talking about smoked beef, smoked fish, dried chicken, traditional mushroom soup, traditional groundnut soup, brown ugali, traditional green vegetable.

Uzuri wa kenyan food ni simplicity. My grandmother could cook zile mboga za kienyeji using cream from cow milk mpaka munalamba vidole.

The Nigerian food though… Kuna place nmeona monkey lungs ama niaje

I am from western,i am talking about cooking skill which makes the food bad, and don’t let me start with Otsutswa etc

Chapati is Indian

Hizo mbisha ni za hoteli not normal home meals.

Believe me Hizo ni homemade meals, nimekula kwa hizi culture zingine zote

Wapi picha ukikula?

Is it really simplicity or lack of creativity?,no much thought goes into cooking Ugali, githeri, greens etc

nimezikula before, one of these days i will post a food i have made outside our food

Klitschko ali maintain kuwa namba 1 heavy weight boxer for ten years aje na wazungu hawakulangi sembe

It’s simplicity…go watch someone cooking Thai food for instance. You will lose track of the ingredients being added. The same with West African food. How do you have fish, chicken & meat in the same pot?

lol, ni sembe ama training,Hata kina Ali,Mayweather wanakula McDonalds na baado wako poa boxing

Problem with simplicity is that it does not produce good food but food for convenience, but then again Nigerian food has a lot of ingredients but the result is a house smelling like a cowshed and something not worth looking at,most of the complex food with many layers of seasoning usually tastes good e.g.Italian Pizza,Lasagna, look also at British simple but the result is bad
