A foreign woman has come out to complain of police harassment and mistreatment in Nairobi. According to her, she was walking on the streets with her husband before allegedly being accosted by the police officers from Kileleshwa Police Station.

They were at Artcaffe to buy medicine and fresh juice before deciding to walk back to where they were staying. They heard some calls and when they looked back to check, it was some people seemingly calling someone and pointing out a bat stick out of a car’s window. The two foreigners assumed the call was not theirs and continued walking back to their house.
Few seconds later, the call continued and they realized they were being pursued. The men asked them if they knew who (police) they were and vilified them for walking away while being called. The officers introduced themselves and asked to check their passports.
I consider Kenya police fairly calm. Unless you are truly involved in crime, a little conversation and you are on your way off. Unlike police in @Tom Bayeye house in Boston and @rexxsimba Condo in Manchester. Where they detect you are poor or foreign and stop your car. Or simply driving while Black. Or in Egypt where it’s 100 times worse than Kenya. Foreigners are stopped on detection. White or Black it doesn’t matter. If you don’t toa kitu kidogo, they turn you back. And confiscate your camera/phone. The locals are under constant harassment by police. Very few Egyptians are interested in living there for this reason.
