Kenya Pipeline procurement scandal

  • EACC probing Sh647m procurement of supply of hydrant pit valves.
  • In 2014, KPC tendered to deliver 60 hydrant pit valves – at a cost of Sh600 million.
  • This means a single hydrant pit valve was supplied at a cost of Sh10 million, almost ten times the actual price of Sh1.5 million.
  • The EACC froze their use and stopped further payment to Aero Dispenser Valves Ltd - the company that won the tender to supply them.
  • Records, however, indicate that the firm had already received a down payment of Sh200 million.
  • Homes of several KPC ofiicials raided.
  • According to Mr. Waqo, the raid is set to be extended to the overseas homes of the officials in the United States and Canada

more news to follow…

Like spear says you need evidence and conclusive reports before posting such shit on this site. Let’s instead concentrate on the dualling of the next road…

Civil service providers to the Nation; they have stolen so much they have acquired homes overseas, escape route.

Wizi Kenya hii hautekelezwi na wengine. Serikali tu yenyewe inatulazimisha kulipa pesa wakisema ni ya kujenga nchi na kuinua hali ya maisha ya wanainchi, badala yake wanaiba.

with all this theft why do we have to borrow? kama nikuiba let them steal from our tax not money we have borrowed!!

Stashing looted funds in the US is stupid, they will freeze them and even have them extradited to face charges.

Kuna office inaitwa PPOA, they are supposed to set upper limits of prices of stuff government buys, those guys should be fired and prosecuted for failing to flag these inflated prices
