I was talking to a friend who is a manager at Kplc from my tribe and he told me given a chance she will just hire members of our tribe because she said the current CEO hires people of his tribe. So she told me what determines whether one get a job is tribal affiliation so long as you have the papers and not whether you are competent enough for the job.
And this is also the same in all govt parastatls and firms. This has become more like a culture in Kenya. So even electing who to become president don’t expect the changes because it will just facilitate the feasting by the ruling tribe.
So the fact is the future of Kenya is doomed because competency and meritocracy will never be appreciated but tribal affiliations and kujuana and this means that the public service will be lethargic and corrupt cause we are so tribal conscious to the point we cannot embrace members of different tribes and give them equal chances.

This has been going on for too long and they dont just appoint tribe. they appoint the least qualified and least professional people from the tribe.
We will appreciate professionalism very soon when the government collapses.

During my working years I never considered tribe a qualification. If you employ someone on any other criteria than qualification be ready to deal with the attendant sloppiness, laziness, feeling of entitlement etc.

KPLC do employ people with the right qualifications, at least as far as engineers and technicians. Problem is the work ethics that’s completely messed up
