Kenya as a country has gone through several phases of nationhood since it was crafted from the process of partitioning of African colonies by European powers alongside other colonies in the early 20th century. In my view the phases can be summarised as follows:
- Mzungu country (colonist paradise) from 1920s-1963
2.Jomo republic (setting base for a young independent state) from 1963-1982. - Nyayo error/era(Moi’s absolute dictatorship, period of stagnation and blackout) from 1982 to 2002.
- Young democracy(more freedoms and opening up of democratic space, followed by Kibakis economic revival) from 1998 to 2013.
- The great transition (a new constitution implemented, grey areas haunting the republic, economic times unpredictable) from 2013 to 2022
- The rise of the Nilote kings(predicted rise of a strong Nilotic leader, being opposed by an equally strong nilotic opponent) from 202-
