A little info. about Luigi Broglio - aerospace engineer, air force lieutenant colonel and also dean of the school of aeronautical engineering at the University of Rome La Sapienza. He led Italy to be the third country in the world to build and operate its own satellite. Broglio continued his role as a director of the Italian Space Agency (ASI). However, when the decision was made in 1993 to downgrade the centre in Kenya to a satellite ground station, Broglio withdrew from ASI’s board of directors and went into retirement.
