Hi Cyprian. On 18/04/2025-Good Friday, were travelling in a Nairobi bound bus from Mariakani and on reaching at Mtito Andei Township, a male traffic police driver together with his female counterpart who were collecting bribes outside their station gave chase to the said Matatu after negotiations to give the desired bribes failed with the conductor of our 33-seater Matatu. Our bus was chased for about 15kms and the police driver never shown signs of giving up regardless of the passengers and children onboard. The end result left the driver of the Matatu dead and scores nursing serious after the Matatu got a very ugly accident along the busy Highway near Strawbag shopping centre. After the accident, the police car bolted back to where it had come from and Ironically, the same vehicle came to our rescue after about an hour. The Matatu was however taken to station as we sought medication at Kambaa Hospital. The hungry and ruthless traffic officers are still walking scot-free to date.
