America has not gotten poorer because China has prospered. In fact, it’s the opposite.
Today, nothing short of a 5000% tariff on China will ever make it feasible for an American company to make $0.6 toothbrush holders, or a $8 humidifier.
So, the American consumer will either cut their spending habits, or pay the extra tax.

word on the street is most company’s operating closed in the US to open shop in China because of the trade conditions , could it be that trump is forcing them back home their origin ?

Many of the things we use today never even existed a few decades ago, and those that do have transformed into a shape or form that has zero manufacturing connection to the US.

Just look around your house and tell me when any of those things was made in America.

For many things, there is no home to return to.
Many of the things we use today never even existed a few decades ago, and those that do have transformed into a shape or form that has zero manufacturing connection to the US.
Just look around your house and tell me when any of those things was made in America.

China’s advantage has been the cheap labor but most companies have been shifting to other Asian countries to prevent exposure to China. The Chinese won’t let American and European companies provide services to Chinese people but they want to export same services . Trump just waved tariffs for 90 days and the fcking market is up by 10% and everyone seems to ignite the fact that he just increased tariffs to China to 125% from 104%. China will have to figure out how to consume all they produce.

Things I expect in the long end :

1. The delisting of Chinese companies on American stock exchanges .
2. The seizure of Chinese companies land in America; Chinese companies can buy huge chunks of land but can’t let an American buy a plot.
3. Cancellation of student visas for Chinese students
4. Cancellation of American passports for all Chinese with non-American parents — birth tourism. This would be millions .

Trump is mad and he has a lot of options plus he doesn’t care who gets hurt .

China imports hundreds of billions in services, mostly from the US.
Don’t be deceived by the perpetual headlines about Google and Netflix being blocked.
Those are blocked for social reasons, not economic.

Non-consumer facing services like in banking and software form the bulk.
Big companies like Visa, Microsoft etc make a killing in China.

China does not let its own citizens own land, so why would they let Americans?
That’s for America to sort out.

When you say that China will have to figure out how to consume all they produce, do you realize only about 15% of what China exports is destined for the US?
Even if Trump outright banned Chinese imports today (impossible), China would still have 85% exports moving elsewhere.
In short, Trump has few cards against the world’s factory.

Trump has paused the tariffs because everyone around him was tired of all the ‘winning’.
He even lost Elon on the tariffs, and he was looking like a mad man by the hour.

But as long as the fight with China remains, temporary reprieve in the market should not deceive you.
Most of those stocks that are green today demand a consistent supply chain from China, and a cheap consumer, spoiled by low prices.

15% of what China exports is destined for the US($ 500 billion) which is their top partner followed by Hong Kong(8%), Japan(4.8%), South Korea(4.5%) etc. There will be no banning of Chinese products but there will be more products coming from Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia etc. There will be no winner and what sucks is that all these fuckers get their raw materials from Africa and we shall be the ones hurting too. Africa has cheaper labor and if our leaders can use their brains maybe we can build cheap hydroelectric plants and manufacture some of these products .

They should have done that from 40 years ago.
All those brands are now all struggling brands, and China has not even started squeezing them properly yet.
Did you ever think you’ll see a day when VW is shutting down plants in Germany?

Because they refused to kill them on their own terms, adapt and move on, China will do the killing for them, and it will neither be planned nor pretty.
