At the moment the border was wide open for terrorists, smugglers to use any point they wished to enter and leave at will. Well now KDF is building a double layer fence with circular razor wire in the middle as an obstacle. There is also a trench after the fence to make sure no vehicle can drive through. The fence will be patrolled by KDF 24/7 with its new surveillance and detection vehicles. They will install electronic detection surveillance equipment through out the length of the fence such as motion sensors, ground penetrating radar to pick up on possible tunnels and infrared radars. Meanwhile KDF continue to acquire equipment to patrol and scan the border from above. Lastly government will build one stop border points along the border to collect taxes from the traders already doing trade across the border to pay back the Treasury for this project.

Is Zoomalia paying for the wall?
Misplaced priorities, this money should have gone into productive development projects like building dams, HELB, … hii ni kitu ya kukata na pliers and filling that ditch ni kazi kidogo.
Anyway lets wait and see
That’s why the surveillance equipment and patrol are for. Pin pointing where intruders are and KDF can direct fire there. No economic activity can take place there until security is restored.
Yeah.
Everybody has an opinion on how money should be spent…
RPG Moja itaangusha…
alafu izike mtaro sio?
tutaona kesho kwa news 1km fence has been uprooted and looted hii ni Kenya
alafu ikue bridge watu wapite
these is good work, when innocent civilians were butchered by alshetani the only talk was the government need to protect our borders…now that their are protected oooh! these money could have being used for dams the sun is to hot(even that the government should do something about)…then the dams are built with tunnels to secure the excess flow of water…hapana wanataka kufanya inchi yetu desert hio pesa walipe daktari nayo…Nikama kujaribu kufikisha threshold na Malayos…just a waste of time.
Good. The government should quietly place landmines around the fence just to make sure that alshameffi don’t try to be clever
Let think with foresight.
Treasury is paying 30 billion to build the 3 berths in Lamu Port. Soon it will tender for the other 32 berths through PPP. Government is due to announce winning bid for Lokichar -Lamu pipeline through PPP. Soon the feasibility study for Lamu-Isiolo-Addis Abab-Juba SGR project by PPP will be completed, tendered and awarded. Which private investors will participate if we haven’t finally taken full control of our border?
This fence succeeds in one thing. Making terrorists and smugglers work hard to get even at soft targets. Right now due to multi national security efforts (KDF-Anisom-Somali Army-usa) Alshabab can’t move in convoys or vehicles in and around the border. Their journey begins in rural Somali, 1-10 people on donkeys or trucks smuggling into the border towns. The last few miles into the border is mostly on foot or donkeys late at night. They then attack soft targets like communication masts, buses, border homes or police posts. They then make quick retreat back across the border before security forces arrive in 30 mins or less. Now with the fence up, KDF will detect anything bigger than a rodent at the fence, vehicles will trigger immediate response. Before they start cutting the fence the response is coming, getting to the razor wire then the trench and at this point they are already taking fire. Either then, it will be a fight over time and response at the fence not attacks on people.
Mines were banned by the UN and Kenya ratified it.
Good move .Let’s criticize positively
I said quietly…no one has to know.
Halafu immigration department will profit by selling IDs to somalis, all the jubilee think tanks really think this will fix our problem??
General Kihalangwa has transformed Immigrations Kenya to be the best department in government. Everything is now done online, digitally to avoid human contact and possible corruption. From application to payment and he must give his personal approval for any citizenship application after reviewing the documents. President Uhuru made a great appointment there. Everyone know he will soon be promoted up the chain to continue with his reforms.
Ditto. Some Kenyans have a tendency to oppose everything.
hapo kwa HELB sportpesa itamaliza heri hio fence
