The first consignment of crude oil flagged off by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday, June 3, at Ngamia 8 in Lokichar, Turkana County, has finally reached the port of Mombasa. The four trucks ferrying the black gold arrived at the Changamwe refinery in Mombasa County on the morning of Thursday, June 7, about four days since the flag off event.

To put this into perspective for the slow ones, kisima iko kikuyu na tank iko Ruiru, are we together, okay, sasa, chota maji Kikuyu na Bottle top alafu utembee hadi Ruiru uimimine kwa tank ya 200 litres. (hio ndio ile kazi twafanya)
Maswali za kanisa ulizeni @GERALD9949
They should have extended the metre gauge to Turkana at least. This nonsense of ferrying oil with trucks is a loss making venture right there!!!.
In the original plan, the idea was that the trucks would reach Eldoret and the crude then transported by rail.
SMH. We will be the first nation to make losses from oil exports.
The plans was to truck it to Eldoret then RVR to rail it to Mombasa. Unfortunately RVR for the 5 straight year failed to pay its concessionary fees to Treasury Kenya and UG. So do we still give them business? Nope. Their concessionary lease agreement was cancelled and it reverts back to KR. Sasa issue of reliability cropped up since that stretch from Eldoret to Nairobi is dicey. Nairobi to Mombasa is OK.
hii ni ujinga wa hali ya juu… ni kama kuambia @Mundu Mulosi alime acre 20 za shamba alafu umpe kikombe ya unga apike ugali anone
anyway @Meria Mata how much fuel do those trucks use to msa from turkana ? how much fuel is realised from the refined crude per truck? why not build a bloody refinery in turkana and serve the local market? sigh ,… yaani lazima muitwe oil exporters mfurahi
and btw turkana is FAR for those who have never been there… and the roads, well there are no roads totalk about. just a legnthy piece of desert where you just choose the general direction and drive…yaani ukitoka kitale 7jioni by psv or personal which is faster, you arrive 10am the following day. sasa mombasa je? ongeza pokot bandits etc …ive been there and i can confidently say hii ni upumbavu wa hali ya juu
So who is the ruler or master we are taking the crude oil to first ? Somebody explain the business politics of not refining our own oil .
In Niger Delta Nigeria locals refine crude oil using bonfires and rusted tanks in the villages but a whole country like Kenya can’t even come up with a small facility to do that on our own .
Chief naskia iyo container moja ni 18T. Zikiekwa mbili- 36T- zinapitisha axle load limits.
Though, why not ferry with mguu kumi zina twistlocks? Would be cheaper.
In another thread I tried to suggest that Kenya should try to refine the oil in Kenya. We could be using old Technologies but it’s better than 2 export the oil. But @GERALD9949 trashed the idea through and through. I wasn’t convinced.
