Mombasa Deputy Governor Hazel Katana has been left out in the cold after her office was raided on Thursday and all her furniture taken away.
According to reports, the raid transpired a day after county officials allegedly stormed her office to take away her official vehicle but their plans were thwarted by her security guards.
“I cannot go back to my office. How can I go there when all the furniture has been removed?” Katana was quoted by the Nation.
Ms Katana had speculated that her current predicaments were instigated by county officials who wanted to eject her from office after she attended several campaign meetings of theJubilee Party.
It was alleged that her presence in the meeting showed her support for Jubilee’s candidate Phillip Charo, in the Malindi Pariamentary race.
After the recent raid however, Katana stated: “I have got absolutely no idea what is going on, why it is happening and who is behind it”.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke GovernorHassan Joho said he was not aware of any raid, highlighting that he had no intentions of ousting the Deputy Governor.
He added that Ms Katana’s seat was elective and had no powers to do so.
