Joe Kadenge: the curtain falls

It’s about time. He has had it coming for many years. RIP

R.I.P JK

Those were the days luos and luhyas used to kick the ball juu then wait for it for 15 minutes to land back in the field.

Lack of exposure mostly.

Plus football clubs back then were not as moneyed as they are today. Footballers were usually picked from local populations.

Sorry kuwarudisha Misri.
Kenya was unfortunate to be colonized by the snobbish Britain that did not recognize the talents of it’s ‘subjects.’ Kadenge’s career was from late 50s to early 70s.
Portugal readily incorporated Eusebio from it’s Mozambican colony (where he was identified by Italian and Brazilian scouts!) into it’s national team, and the rest is history (with Pele injured in the 1966 World Cup Eusebio was then temporarily considered the greatest). Had Eusebio been born in Kenya, UG or TZ he would have suffered the Kadenge fate.
