“We can confirm that an anti-doping rule violation case concerning Jemima Sumgong (Kenya) has commenced this week,” the IAAF said in a statement.
"The athlete tested positive for EPO (Erythropoietin) following a no-notice test conducted in Kenya.
“This was part of an enhanced IAAF out-of-competition testing programme dedicated to elite marathon runners which is supported by the Abbott World Marathon Majors group.”
Some of these banned substances can show up in those tests are simply because the person took some cold medicine or even maybe their diet just before the test lead to an increase of the stuff in the body.
anyway, i think there should be an olympics for people who use steriods. Lets see just how far we can push the human body.
I mean, who wouldnt want to watch a 100m race run in in 5 seconds?that would be fucking amazing!!! marathons being run in 40 mins…
there is a difference between watching how fast a dude is running and some jamaa showing off his oiled body bits to you so you can judge them on how nice they are
If there was a medication that can boost EPO levels then that medication would have already been banned. Wacha hizi excuses.
IAAF has been testing for EPO for over a decade now and I have never heard anyone say eti some cold medication can boost EPO levels.
And These athletes are advised by qualified experts regarding what kind of medications they can take.
