With a 55% stake, they could now just take the company private, like X did with Elon Musk. That means they no longer have to pay dividends to snivelling kenyans in future, and no one gets to see their financial statements anymore. NI PESA YA CAMPAIGN INATAFUTWA

first priority after takeover should be kuondoa Short man na kurudisha a Michael Joseph type guy.

You are an IDIOT! You want boers who said kenyans have peculiar habits? What is this self hate by kenyans? Ni wivu ya seeing a fellow kenyan succeeding? Jinga kabisa.

Only a fool would sell profit making companies and keep the loss making ones like KQ, mumias etc. Only a stupid farmer would sell his milk producing cow and be left with non producing ones that he digs into his pocket to feed. Common sense 101.

Have you ever imaqgined there is a kalwenjinga business man. Tangu uzaliwe, which kalemeno business man do you know that did it without some fishy government contract. Or which kalemeno has ever been featured on Alex Chamwadas Daring Abroad ati alifanya biashara ikakuwa hivi na hivyo. Kalemenos are genetically incapable of reasoning pragmatically. Ni either akimbize pesa au serikali impee hiyo pesa. They know money comes from one source only, and there is always running away with it involved.

The real Danger is that Vodafone now owns 55% of the company, becoming the majority shareholder. Their word is LAW!!! Wakisema toeni transmitters zote Kitui town, zitatolewa and the Government wont do shit!!

Ujinga kama hii haingefanyika in Kibakis Era, they were the ones pushing for the Government to have the majority stake in Safaricom. Yenyewe kama akina Sudi ndio advisors wa serikali, tunaelewa tu. Stupid Kalenjingas hata hawajui the repercussions of this buyoff, ni pesa tu wameona.

Government has no business in owning parts of a private companies, on the other hand they should ensure that majority stakes of companies like safaricon are held by local entities so that the profit generated by these companies keep reinvested in Kenya. Vodafone watapeleka all the profit back in uk and it is a loss to the Kenyan economy

Ideally, yes. More privatization is good. But we all know where those returns are going.

More privatising also means Peter Ndegwa going back into the financial industry where he understands what he is doing.

In technology, you have to use words like ā€˜R&D’ to be taken seriously. Anyone can sell a phone, but not everyone can pay for it.
