It’s a new Era in Banking as Banks start to end cash withdrawals

One of Australia’s biggest banks has confirmed that some of its branches will no longer allow customers to withdraw money over the counter.

ANZ bank is stripping back some of its services, with certain branches no longer carrying physical cash.
Instead, customers will be directed to ATMs if they wish to withdraw money - even though these machines are also being cut down across the country.

Makes sense. Kwa bank tufanye deposit, loan application, other issues etc. My bank re-introduced mpesa charges. Siku hizi ni ATM then MPESA. Large transactions ni direct transfers.

Huku niko, it’s very rare to use cash. It’s 6 or 7 years since I used an ATM.

Majuu sidhani watu wanaenda bank kiwithdraw pesa…sielewi mbona Australia haikuwa imecatchup

Not often, since the advent of check cards, which work like a cheque book. But you still need cash withdrawals for occasional large purchases eg buying a car.

You mean buying a car requires cash and not the other way round? Really?

Cash is an option. Many times when you are buying from an individual, they want cash.

As a man Usiwahi Kosa. I truly tell you this. Usiwahi kosa minimum 1000kes kwa mfuko or a denomination of equal value in the country you live in.
Mimi nimeona moto na hio ujinga ya kusema cashless transactions.
