When Moi took over, kikuyus began destabilizing his government. They had even planned a coup but luckily Moi crushed the plotters and removed them from positions of power. He punished them accordingly.
Lakini, you can already see kikuyus learnt nothing from their years of wilderness during mois rule. It is like they are striving too hard to get reasons to dump Ruto and then destabilise his government. Yet Ruto has rewarded them with big positions.
Ruto has learnt what Moi learnt- kikuyus cannot be satisfied until one of them is the president.
Luckily, Ruto is more Moist than Moi. If Rigathi continues his anti-government activities, he will only succeed in isolating kikuyus from the government. Failing to attend a presidential function in Nyeri- his home county- shows just how rigathi disrespects the president. Even Ruto under Uhuru was not this disrespectful.
What kikuyus ought to know is that Ruto will easily win in 2027 without their support. Right now, he has kalenjins, luos, luhyas, Somalis inside his pockets. Those alone are enough to make him win.
Kikuyus should reject the rebellion being cooked by rigathi.
But even if they repent and fully support Ruto, they cannot have the same entitlement they had since Luos are willing to support Ruto. They will be like the wife who returns to her husband after cheating on him only to find he has another wife. They have already shown Ruto they are not loyal to him. Kalenjins supported uhuru without sabotaging him. Let kikuyus also do the same.
Bro, bado uko kwa tribal politics? Make it easy for Gen Z to get ID cards alafu tutaona kama Jambas atarudi.
Gen Z could disrupt the status quo in 2027, there will be 3 million 18 year olds who will be able to vote and considering how they mobilised over the finance bill protests they could be a wild card, the problem is this govt delaying publishing id cards, most UDA mps from murima will not be reelected anyway.
NO Gen z is getting an ID card and even the very few that manage to get one will not get registered as voters. Thats Rutos main strategy for 2027 + getting ID,s for about 3M Somali refugee’s
kenyans get the leaders they deserve.
You are the type who goes to sleep hungry but happy because ‘tuko ndani ndani ya siri kali’.
Sad.
That strategy might work, but still there are 7 million Gen z who registered to vote but didn’t vote in '22 and they have Ids anyway, turning those numbers out in '27 might work considering Ruto only won 250000 votes that’s not landslide margins and the fact he’s become very unpopular in the last 2 years.
Genz will make ruto to loose the elections by 8am
Mungu aliumba nini jameni!!
Let me put it on record that even kalenjins wil not vote for ruto in those numbers you are imagining. Everyone and their grandmother knows that voter apathy will be of epic proportions because ruto will win either way. We all know that.
Jabass spent 5yrs tangatangaring undermining and insulting uhuru.
Kikuyus were the biggest critics of uhuru, they were never satisfied. So what is your point?
Only after the handshake. Before that it was “hata kama ni mwizi, ni mwizi wetu”.
they only became bitter after the handshake. they were very OK with Uhurus corruption…they are now bitter because ODM is part of government. Kikuyus are normally very jealous of Luos. they hate it when they see Luos benefiting.
At a gut level, I don’t think there will be an election in 2027. Something huge will happen that elections will be the last thing on anyone’s mind. Global economic and societal collapse, WW3, a deadly pandemic etc
Pupu ulale
They were unhappy with uhuru for betraying his deputy after he had supported him, the same way they are unhappy with the current one for betraying his deputy after he supported him…
No. Kikuyus generally look down on Luos and cannot stomach the thought of them in leadership.
Uongo. Kikuyus have always worked with the Luo. Kikuyu’s formed the first kenyan cabinet with the Luo under KANU party. Infact Tom Mboya was Jomo Kenyatta’s best friend and KANU secretary general. Kalenjins were in the opposition KADU led by Moi.
