IT gurus, please suggest for me a good open help desk system that can be used by a bank.
interesting post, just have a quick question, why would a bank go for an open source system, last i checked they were very much against this, even in the few instances where they did go with an open source system, they still had to get consultants to sanity check every single line of code to ensure there were no easter bunnies
It’s for a Microfinance bank who don’t have any help-desk system at the moment and they have requested for advice on the same.
hope they know that an open source system will be their weakest link the next time there is an audit on their IT systems and IT security.
Checkout OSTicket, am not an authority on it but i know a company that’s currently using it and the IT manager seems to speak very highly about it
So you are the broker ,
Nah…just offering a helping hand to a client
Boss, opportunity knocks just once, don’t let it pass you. Hakuna kitu free banks/microfinance give you therefore change them consultant fee.
I used http://osticket.com some years back, made by a Kenyan in the US fyi, was a bit buggy but does the job. Made a few modules including sms alerts.
I use osticket for my ISP. With a responsive front end.

Are they using MIFOS? I installed Mifos for a Sacco and they are still using it. I’ve nothing against open source.
But you still have to pay for training & support.
Are you crazy!!!

Alarm bells are ringing my friend.
