Is the Kikuyu economic dominance a myth?

This guy makes a valid point, but then I wonder, are these these the same people that own and run Quickmart, Naivas, Tuskys, Magunas, Two Rivers, Equity Bank, Family Bank, Brookside, e.t.c ndio wanatishwa na a 50x100 Mall? If we’re being honest, the Somalis are equally as crooked. Many untaxed and unregulated goods pass from porous Kenya-Somali border. All in all, this type of competition is what we want. For the good of all Kenyans, traditional fake monopolies in the market from petroleum energy, doing business with the government, shipping, textiles, road & air transport, forex bureaus, hospitality, electronics, spares, to logistics must be displaced.

:meffi::meffi::meffi::meffi::meffi:

From what I have witnessed, the wealthiest community in Kenya are Indians. Kuna estates ukienda hapa tuu Rosslyn and other leafy areas utafikiria uko majuuu.

Kwa nyeuthis no tribe has set itself apart significantly, including Somalis and Kikuyus. There is no clear winner.

True dat azor mayai

If you are ever in doubt of the Kikuyu’s business acumen, just do your research on the amount of the wealth they manage as CEOs on the publicly traded companies; starting with SCOM and EABL. Then you will come back wagging your tail between your legs. Let all play by the rules!

Shida ya wakikuyu ni tamaa mburoti maguta maguta…too much idle money in land instead of factories and large commercial activities.Whereas Indians have dominated lucrative productive activities,bidco, flower farming nk

Kikuyu ni hiyo kuwa kwa serikali 20yrs imewasaidia, but since hiyo kiti they will never see it again in the next twenty years wacha tuone hiyo dominance yao.
Hapa kenya manufacturing and health industry ni wahindi, retail, wholesale, hotel and aviation ni somalis, so sector gani ndio kikuyu ina dominate?

As long as Somalia remains a wartorn shithole, their “business acumen” will also remain a myth. There’s no way you can thrive in your neighbour’s house while your own is crumbling. It simply means you owe your success more to your neighbour’s benevolence than your own smarts.

ya kubroke hapo katikati

The elite will never allow this
Our politicians are part of this elite or desire to be
they will only crush businesses owned by Uhuru and allies

This economic dominance only exists around a 100km radius of Mount Kenya. The only reason it’s visible is because Nairobi is within that radius… past that ni ma ordinary tu.

Business and politics are too intertwined in Kenya for one to coexist without the other. Which is why Keroche left her business to run for politics. Indians by being non African and because they are worshipped are largely left to do business. The rest end up in politics or end up picking sides along tribal lines. With every regime change we want to crush rival businesses and then later Ndindu will come and write a think piece about how bonobos are bad managers.

during childhood I saw two types of elites from the community. The bluechip and the blue-collar. Both had lots of money, but they never mingled despite being from the same community. They despised each other. We schooled with their kids, and the hate was real, even if they happened to be relatives. It was a class (as in swag/taste) divide. Might it be still on today aka the NIC bank type and the Equity Building Society type?

20yrs Kikuyu wangojee tukule tushibe kwanza

Wakikuyu yada yada tada tada yada yada yada yada tada tada yada.

Mkikuyu :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: haki ya mungu.

Mevi nyinyi.

figgsed.

Heheheheh… Very funny… Kikuyu walikufanyia nini… Must be personal…

Am helping kikuyu haters with a chorus.

Everyone pays bribes so it’s the benchmark. All these businesses pay bribes either to be left alone, to protect their business, to contribute to their tribal candidate etc. But Indians have been largely unaffected by inter tribal politics. Their businesses tend to have some continuity. I am not only talking about large businesses, I am including the medium sized and small ones as well.
