Magufuli has now closed down 2 radio stations, 1 newspaper and banned all public and in-door rallies. He has even gone ahead and arrested the top opposition figures in the country. Even making a satirical remark about the government is now illegal in Tz. Many lauded him when he was hiring and firing people through road side declarations. But now not many are impressed by the direction things are going. Is this guy turning into a despot?

he also closed all the ICDs which were meant to decongest the port, and tried to implement some radical measures, last i checked he was trying to impose VAT on transit cargo and clashing with one of his ministers because he (magufuli) wanted small companies to be given rights for mining and purification of Gold ore and Concentrate which is very dangerous, can you imagine a small briefcase company without the right training and facilities being given a license to handle cyanide?
