Is Nation serious in putting unverified alleged murder plot in its headline?

The Head of Serious Crimes Unit Michael Sang told the Nation: “The probe is on and we shall be engaging all, including the suspects before making a conclusion on what transpired. At the moment, the case has too many gaps that need to be filled,” he said.
The police are also analysing Njeri’s phone data to establish who she was in contact with before, during and after the incident.
In addition, they want to find out how she could have been booked into a different room at the hotel in Mwiki, wait until morning and join her captors for breakfast without raising alarm. They also want to establish whether the allegations have anything to do with the divorce case.

Its not always advisable to rush to the media Even if you are the victim. Your story will be torn apart. Kuna holes mingi hapa

But we are in a murder nation

Thats what happens when you fire experienced editors and journalists.

I told @Lionheart hii mambo when Sophia Wanuna was made acting chief editor pale Standard group, after they unceremoniously fired Peter Opondo July last year.

That’s when I realised Kenyan media space is entering an entirely new phase.

They don’t make editors like Philip Ochieng anymore

Capital FM have jumped on it too…perhaps it happened.

That’s what I was wondering. It is almost like they ran out of content and decided why the heck, people like Moshene anyway!

No editor worth his salt accepts to air or publish unverified news reports. Those who do are people who slept in media school.

Show me a news reporter who has at least read two books this year. Maybe @FieldMarshal CouchP who is obsessed with dirty titties

Mutuma Mathiu used to.

Ndindu! He is a reporter for the Kangemi Sun Times; and a very good one at that

I long published a scholarly article in a respected and peer reviewed journal on African journalism. Therein, my thesis was thus; journalism should never be offered as a stand alone academic program but rather as a common unit in other programs or strictly at masters level. I also postulated that journalists, by law, should be subject matter specialists in other fields. No one has ever challenged my paper.

Mchawi, this year is only 15 days old…bado tunapiga sherehe…

Sometimes you think. Most times you don’t…

What about law?

Do we have local colleges or universities that offer programs in writing for technical subjects such as mathematics or statistics? While at it, do we have colleges that offer advanced academic writing programs that can be usefum to doctoral students? Or anything along this lines?

All professional courses including teaching, law, medicine should be studied post grad

Offered at masters level, but it is not practical enough since it’s taught like another academic subject not a practical skill. I was shocked to learn that at Egerton they lump all the MSc students together for a common course on scientific writing. Writing at masters level should taught and through out the course there should be a writing clinic where students can have their writings appraised and given remedial training.

Fake news is Nation news

Sure, I need something like what you described.
