The book Manipulated Man had an insightful gem of advice on this need

Greed is insatiable. Its like hunger. Ukiwa na njaa you just want to eat. Once umekula njaa ina disapear and you are like you dont need any more food. After a few hours njaa imerudi and you want to eat again. This goes on till you die.
Its also like sex. After umekulana umetosheka and you dont want anything to do with sex…but after a few hours/days/weeks (depending on your stamina) ushaanza kutuma fare or ku bargain for that p.
Pesa pia iko hivo. When you get it first time unasikia umetosheka. Punde si punde you want more. You are then promoted and you cant wait for that bigger paycheck kuingia. Punde si punde you want more. Your 3rd promotion gives you much more. You cant believe its your payslip. 1 month later uko na shida zaidi ya pesa. You now want side hustles. Hizo zinaleta more money. At first you are happy but next year you want more from your side hustles.Unaanza kufuta watu na ku under pay the remaining workers. You take shortcuts in your business. You avoid paying taxes, you bribe to bag those tenders.
Back in the office umekuwa a big shot employee. Unaiba kidogo siku ya kwanza because the opportunity is there. Next you want to steal more. As you get older your greed becomes more and more. Una zeeka sasa umekatalia mali. Your kids have left for majuu. Suddenly you are just alone with your wife and a few terminal diseases. Then you die unaachia watoto mali. In a few years wanagawana and move on as if you never existed.
There is enough for all our needs but not for our greed.
