The only huge adantage an AK 47 has over M16 is that it can still fire with very little maintenance in the harshest of conditions. (Good for militia,terrorist,bandits etc)
But a well maintained M16 is very lethal. (Good for armies,sf etc)
A well maintained AK cant beat a well maintained M16 in a shooting range. Choose your poison.

Effective range ya 44 magnum pistol isn’t that much downrange, especially since your a dealing with rustlers out in the open. Gotta reload after 5 or 6 shots. Maybe Close quarters where you have @Gaza and his comrades cornered in a building and shoot them like fish in a barrel
But the rustlers don’t move as an organized core. They will just be jumping around carpet shooting. Very easy targets for a trained Expert who cleverly maneuvers opponents to cornered positions. All a cattle rustler can do is cork a gun before jumping onto the flight path of a bullet.
