Is 300K Enough to Start a Small Business?

I’m tired of the 9 to 5 grind and looking to break into the business world. I have 300K sitting idle in the bank and was wondering how I can put it to work. I’m not sure if it is enough to start a solid business or if I should top it up - yes, I’m that inexperienced with business.

Anyway, here are the business ideas that come to mind:

I want you guys to be straight up with me, I’m I being dilutional with the budget and business ideas? What would you do?

You are most likely to succeed in a business you have exposure to as opposed to just trying out a business idea you have thought of.

Those are very basic ideas and most likely filled with stiff competition that will run you into the ground. Kenya is undergoing a cash crunch right now so save that money and think of a hard business that has multiple barriers to entry.

The idea that it is okay to be an SME is the biggest lie sold to us,once you get into that hole, you will be in a world of pain and regret why you chose to be in an undifferentiated market.

Simple: Supply makaa from narok, kajiando and marigat to retailers in nrb and kiambu. You buy at ksh 700 and sell at 1800 to 2100 per ngunia. Fanya hesabu

Pause. What is your monthly recurrent expenses?

Yes. It is possible to start a successful business with 300k and even smaller amounts.

However, it is extremely difficult to hack it. Its sad but true.

Every person and their grandmother has 300k. That means all businesses at that capital level are extremely competitive/crowded. Any business that fits that budget has thousands of people trying to squeeze cash from it. That is the downside of starting a small business.

To succeed you will have to either venture into a service-based business that is hard to copy, or get a location that is hard to acquire. Basically, you have to be protected from competition because even if your idea is unique, watu wakiona unakula poa they will copy within no time because of the low capital required.

The rich get richer because they face limited competition. Kama biz inahitaji 10M+ kama supermarket, it eliminates most peasants. Meanwhile nduthi zinajaa kama nzi.

If you are earning more than 50k in your daily job usiache kuanza biashara na 300k. Endelea na kazi, invest the 300k, and continue saving.

What Kenyans dont about starting a successful biz is not capital. What matters alot is skill. With 50k you can start a biz. Watch it grow. But us we are good at copy pasting.

I wont quit my job.

Biz hutake time to establish.

Fungua kanisa halafu preach some things that are different from other conmen sorry, preachers. An example would be to encourage polygamy and sanctifying it in your church. Selling the word is the way to go especially now that we have “watu wa kanisa” as no. 1 and no. 2.
Halafu hii employment ya 9 to 5 ni gani cos mimi huona ni kama employment mob ni 8 to 5?
