Hypothetical situation: if you are invited to the US by a family member to go to a vacation. Then you decide to stay and look for a job or higher degree. What are the possible scenarios?
Tourist visa is 5 years long, so within that time unaweza jipanga na makaratasi (via marriage). Of course one should never be caught working and it’s best not to go out of status because it can really work against you in future. If one wants to enroll in college they need to change from B2 to F1/J1 visa.
definitely illegal to look for work while on a tourist visa. If any evidence is found,you could risk deportation at any time.However,you can get married in the United States while on a tourist visa and successfully adjust your status to permanent resident without having to return home .Assuming you are in the United States as a tourist (on a B-2 visitor visa) na sio jangili, it is possible to change your status to F-1 (then you can work study to offset tuition fees)by submitting a request to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services . However, getting this request approved is anything but guaranteed usionyeshe desperation,enda na makaratasi za shule,you will need them.Tafuta sponyo in the meantime ukiwa huko ju shule sio ya jubilee:D:D:D:D:D:D
Umepata visa Kwanza?.. Kama Umepata ntakushow hot deal
Mostly as stated above.
But just to add;
Most employers are now demanding to see work authorization before they hire employees. If your SSN is ‘not valid for employment’ things can get really thick really fast…
A safer bet would be to go over as a visitor, do some recon and then return home armed with all the necessary information. That way your arrival/departure record with DHS remains intact. Once back home you can then apply for the appropriate visa, in your case F1 without much of a hassle.
The main issue with that is the amounts required upfront for tuition for out of state students. Not to mention the back and forth travel; this is a luxury most people can’t afford.
BUT…
One may also decide to take the risk and overstay their tourist visa. Its a big risk, however, and keep in mind;
1.You will need either a genuine spouse or have an arrangement with someone that’s trustworthy. I’ve seen people held at ransom by extortionists
2. Immigration now thoroughly scrutinizes marriages for any kind of visa fraud.
3. You will need to earn a living as you wait out the period to aquire the green card. For spouses of USCs that could take a year
tldr;
Kuna wakenya wengi wako out of status na wako job, met many, however many of them came here when things were a lot easier.
But some are still coming in by the way…lol
I would say assess your situation huko home. If the situation is tight then you won’t have that much to lose.
I suggest you have a look at visajourney.com and read through some of the threads there just to give you a better understanding. And visit the forums as well.
How can you go looking for a job with “Not authorized to work” emblazoned on your SSN. Hapa ndio unajua manaija wako na faida
Yeah, haikosi kuna ukora hapa na pale. After all these guys can’t do without immigrants.
Old thread but very actual one.
In general, I like traveling extremely much.
Last time I was in three countries on a month’s visit and I really liked it. Since I was there for the first time I had to turn to tripduck.com which is a company with the help of which I was able to visit all the beautiful places there that were really worth visiting. I saw so many nice things there that I didn’t want to go home anymore, I was so excited. Both my friends and I were left with beautiful impressions and we plan to go on a trip shortly after the pandemic thing ends.
I am also a big fan of traveling and have been to many countries in my life.
