Internet providers

Where can I find a reliable internet provider? I have been having problems getting a reliable internet provider.

My first internet provider was from a friend. He used to supply internet and I decided to support his business. He charged me 10k for everything from the receiver, router, cable, labour and 1 month free internet. I was given the 3mbps package. After the 1 month free period elapsed thats where the problem started. The internet became slow, was buffering too much and sometimes became unusable completely. The only time it worked is when he came to check the problem with my connection after which it would stop working again. After too many complains I decided to drop his internet and look for another provider.

I decided to give Poa Internet a try. Their internet wasnt that bad but at times it would become really slow and would buffer. Their customer care wasnt really helping. After a few days, my receiver was stolen and I decided to ditch their services altogether. Getting a refund from them was a headache.

I decided to go the Zuku way. Zuku during the day was crappy but at night it was okay. What I hated about Zuku is that their customer care seemed to have no idea what they were dealing with. They would give you the same solution for different problems. Sometimes they wouldnt pickup calls and from their tones it looked like they were being bothered big time. Those fuckers would fill your phone with calls whenever they wanted payment.

I moved to my current provider whose internet is okay but pia yeye akona shida zake pia. Whenever there is a downtime, he doesnt communicate or even send a text. Its after you call him that he notifies there’s maintainance being done. The downtime can last as long as 2 days and compensation for the 2 days downtime isnt guaranteed. He also has the behaviour of calling you endless times whenever its time for payment. Any leads to better internet providers?

ZUKU
If you reside in older neighborhoods such as Buru, Umoja, Kilimani, Langata, and others, where coaxial cables are still in use, experiencing unstable internet is inevitable from time to time. Conversely, in newer neighborhoods, where the infrastructure comprises fiber optics, complaints about unstable internet are rare, unless you’re sharing the connection with numerous users.

Safaricom Home Fiber offers reliability with minimal downtimes, albeit at a higher cost and with outdated Fair Usage Policies (FUPs).

Unless you’re beyond the reach of these two providers, they represent viable options, albeit costly ones.

PS For ZUKU in older neighborhoods, the expense of replacing outdated infrastructure is simply too high.

Get a 5G router from Airtel. Hakuna siku utapata downtime. But your area should have a strong 3g/4g ama hata 5g. Mimi niko kijijini and enjoying internet as if niko areas ziko na fiber.

3500 per month for the 10mbps. For me the internet is so stable hata nauzia majirani.

10K for the 5G router, Ksh3,000 for the unlimited package

3,500 that’s the price of 20mbps Fiber
