Increased cyber threats as we face-off COVID19

Boring topic.
A couple of weeks ago I wrote a thread about the increase of cyber attacks (potential threats), but of course it didn’t gain much attention because it didn’t have any nudes.
As we worry about coronavirus, curfew, lock-downs, jobs, rent, food- and everything else in-between, we also need to pay attention to the other big threat that we all tend to ignore. Just because Safaricom, Equity and all other stakeholders don’t talk about it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen. They loose hundred millions of shillings every year to cyber crooks.
Kesho ukiamka don’t be surprised to see account yako with zero balance! I’m trying hard not to sound like an alarmist, but there is a lot of bad stuff going on especially now when everyone is focused on the Covind19 pandemic.
Bottom line: Be smart and don’t just click on any email or WhatsApp messages you get.

Here’s a link to a release by the Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and the National Cyber Security Centre (UK).
